Opting Out of Data Collection

Opting Out
I am a ShowMeCables customer and I want to opt-out
If you have a ShowMeCables account and wish to completely opt-out of ShowMeCables’ data collection:

1. Log in to your ShowMeCables account.
2. Using the left navigation, select Privacy Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom of your Profile page and click Delete account.
Once you complete these steps, we will permanently delete all of your data from our systems.

To further delete any tracked data, you way also wish to complete the steps under I want to opt-out of anonymous tracking below.

I want to opt-out of anonymous tracking
Want us to delete all anonymous data we’ve collected from you during your visit to www.showmecables.com? No problem!

You will need to do this for each browser you use.
If you’ve previously visited sites that use ShowMeCables, you will need to ask those sites to delete any data they may have collected about you.


Chrome
Click the menu button .
Choose Settings.
Type do not track into the search field and press enter.
Ensure that the option labeled Send a "Do Not Track" request with your browsing traffic is checked.

Firefox
Click the menu button .
Choose Preferences.
Click Privacy.
Ensure the option labeled Request that sites not track you is checked.

Internet Explorer

Edge
Click the ••• menu.
Choose Settings.
Under Advanced settings, click View advanced settings.
Under Privacy and services, ensure that the option labeled Send Do Not Track requests is on.

Safari
From the Safari menu, choose Preferences....
Click the Privacy tab.
Ensure that the option labeled Ask websites not to track me is checked.

Opera
On Windows, choose Preferences from the Settings menu.
On Mac, choose Preferences... from the Opera menu.
Type do not track into the search field and press enter.
Ensure the option labeled Send a 'Do Not Track' request with your browsing traffic is checked.




Downloading Personal Data
I am a ShowMeCables customer and I want to download my personal data.

If you have a ShowMeCables account and wish to view or download your personal data:

1. Log in to your ShowMeCables account.
2. Using the left navigation, select Privacy Settings.
3. At the top of the page under “Download personal data” enter your password and click the download button.
Once you complete these steps, a CSV file of all personal data will be downloaded from your computer.

Anonymizing Personal Data
I am a ShowMeCables customer and I want to anonymize my personal data.

If you have a ShowMeCables account and wish to anonymize your personal data:

1. Log in to your ShowMeCables account.
2. Using the left navigation, select Privacy Settings.
3. At the top of the page under “Anonymise personal data” check the box indicating you wish to proceed, enter your password and click the proceed button.


Once you complete these steps, you will get a new login and password through your email.  Your old information will be removed from the website.


Revoke Cookie Policy

I am a ShowMeCables customer and I no longer agree to your cookie policy.

If you have a ShowMeCables account and wish to revoke your consent to our cookie policy:

1. Log in to your ShowMeCables account.
2. Using the left navigation, select Privacy Settings.
3. At the bottom of the page under “Revoke Cookie Policy Consent” click the revoke button.


Once you complete these steps, you will no longer be able to access ShowMeCables.com
