Q: What does it mean to ground?

A: Grounding means that you are routing/connecting your electrical signals to the earth in order to prevent electrical shocks. It is a safety measure used to protect people from coming into contact with electrical hazards. With development in grounding over the years it can also help to remove unwanted electrical noise and make your devices work better.

Q: Why should I ground my electrical equipment?

A: Grounding is very important when it comes to protecting your satellite dishes and TV sets. It is essential to ground in order to prevent damage that lightning strikes can cause on your equipment. By grounding your equipment you will save a lot of money by not having to replace the expensive items that were fried in a storm.

Q: What should I use a grounding rods on?

A: Anything and everything! They are made to keep you safe by taking the danger away from you and most devices even come with grounding screws now to assure more safety.

Q: Is the lead length of the cable important in my protector installation?

A: Yes the lead length is very important. First it must be no longer than 20 feet in length and the shorter the better. It also must have the most direct path possible. The path should be straight and have no 90 degree turns. When the lead length is not short and direct there is a delay in the protectors response which can let unwanted voltage through resulting in that unwanted damage to your equipment.
