Q: What does keystone mean?

A: Keystone refers to a standardized modular system where different jacks can be snapped into wall plates surface-mount boxes or a patch panel. Any keystone module (or jack) will fit in any keystone plate or panel.

Q: What does high-density mean

A: 'High-density' usually describes patch panels. High-density patch panels have the jacks positioned very close to one another. They require high-density jacks because the rear footprint of other jacks may be too wide. So if you're using a high-density patch panel make sure to get high-density jacks. Otherwise they may not fit properly.

Q: What’s the difference between High Density Jacks and Standard Jacks?

A: The difference between them is in physical profile; there is no difference in performance. High-density jacks have a slimmer rear profile which allows more ports to be inserted into a single rack unit. When using a high-density patch panel or certain wall plates you must use high-density jacks as well.

Q: What’s the difference between NetKey and Keystone Jacks?

A: Panduit’s NetKey line has an 'Industry Standard Keystone Footprint' which allow us to work in other manufacturer’s faceplates patch panel and surface boxes. Netkey products will fit into all standard keystone applications.

Q: Which manufacturers' wall plates patch panels and surface mount boxes will these jacks work with?

A: The dimensions of all keystone products are standardized so these jacks should work with keystone products from any manufacturers. Some of the most popular brands are ICC Panduit and Leviton.
