This shielded Cat6a RJ45 modular connector is designed to terminate solid or stranded cat6 network cable. The connector contains two metal 'teeth' that hold the wire in place giving a reliable connection. Easy to terminate, these connectors are useful for creating custom-length patch cables from bulk cable. The pinout for these connectors can be either TIA/EIA 568 or 568B.

What is the difference between a solid and stranded connector?


A solid RJ45 connector has 3 teeth that pinch the solid wire to ensure good contact. A stranded RJ45 connector contains 2 teeth that bite the strands to hold the wire in place. Stranded is typically used when you are making your own patch cables.
